– Sybil Harris-DeRoach, Director of Medical Billing

Working for Signallamp Health has been a blessing for my career growth. The opportunities presented have changed my life for the better. To work for a company that has changed healthcare in the way that we are has been an enlightening experience. I feel as if I am really contributing to this important change.

Tell us a little bit about your role and a day in the life.

I am responsible for all billing on behalf of our clients to Medicare and Medicare Advantage payers. I am always working on standardizing and centralizing billing functions to increase efficiency, ensure proper documentation and maximize reimbursements for the services provided.

How would you describe the company culture?

I have always looked at this company as a way for me to help people that need a more direct connection to their physician’s office no matter the specialty. After working for several specialty physicians within the healthcare system, I knew exactly the type of care patient’s craved. I knew that patients wanted to have a more personal connection with their physician’s office as well as hands on care that felt personalized. We are able to help patients in their time of need and maximize patient care on an intimate level. It brings me joy to work for a company that provides a service that really keeps patients on track with their healthcare.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Signallamp Health?

My favorite thing about working for Signallamp Health is the opportunity to grow within the company. As a new company, Signallamp is trying things all the time to see what works and doesn’t work. I like being part of that process and helping the company succeed.

What are you most likely to become famous for?

The thing I would most likely to become famous for would be a stand-up comedian. I have always been told that I can make anyone cheer up by telling one of my many stories. I have a comedic outlook on life, and I feel the way to heal is through truth and laughter.

What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?

My ideal way to spend the weekend would be in 95 degree weather on a private beach with my son. We love the ocean and the inner peace that it brings to our lives. The hotter weather the better.

Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?

My go to artist when I cannot decide on something to listen to would always be Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. I have loved her music and self-expression since I was 11 years old. She is the embodiment of female empowerment and I look up to her. If you need a song she has plenty to dance to, many great ballads, and the visual albums are breath taking.
